Using a bong to smoke will not only enhance the smoking experience, but also make the smoking process less harmful. Unclean bongs nullify their benefits and the results can be much worse than smoking a joint. Smoke passing through the bong is certainly filled with harsh chemicals and they can gather on the side of your bong. This will cause stains and it is a clear indication that your bongs need cleaning. In order to get clean and smooth smoke every time, make it a practice to clean your bong after about 6 to 10 uses. Here is some information that can be helpful to clean your bong:
Things needed to clean your bong:

Rice or salt

Rubbing alcohol

Water

Drain

Completely remove water from your bong bowl and dump it in a toilet bowl or sink.

Fill about 65% of bong with hot water. Slightly tilt the bong, cover its mouth and shake it all the way side to side. This will start removing stains from the bong and then dump the water. Repeat this activity several times.

Pour a small quantity of rubbing alcohol and salt inside the bong and swirl around the bottom. Remove this liquid. Pour some more alcohol and salt and shake the bong sideways and dump the solution.

Once again fill the bong with hot water and shake. Repeat this process until rubbing alcohol is removed completely.

Spray surface cleaner in a rag, wipe your bong, rinse with water and then you are done.
Tips for Cleaning your Bong
Using lime scented cleaner or a few drops of lemon will enhance your bong smell. Instead of salt, you can also use rice for cleaning the bong.
